Queen City Dolphins (QCD) is a Minority Swim Team that welcomes athletes of any race to a team that was established in January 2005 by Rodney Sellars and Marcus Green.  At the team's inception, the team had only 12 swimmers.  The team has since increased it's membership to 44 active swimmers.  Queen City Dolphins is a year-round swim team located in Charlotte, North Carolina and practices at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center (MCAC) Monday - Friday.

Rodney Sellars and Marcus Green (QCD Coaches and Founders) wanted to bring a different type of extracurricular activity to minorities in Metro-Charlotte.  Coach Marcus quotes, "I wanted kids to have options other than just basketball and football programs.  I grew up participating in a lot of sports, and swimming was the program that allowed me to attend college.  I am hoping that kids will be able to excel well enough in swimming to get the opportunity for college like I did."

QCD is more than just a swim team.  It is a family, where parental involvement is essential to the growth and well-being of the TEAM.
